This short film, unMade – 26 years in the making, explores the origins and early development of Jacknife Co-Founders Mike Kelar and Mikey Richardson’s approach to creativity and the philosophies that inform the studio’s work today.

The film looks at their beginnings as art school students leading up to creating their first design studio, AmoebaCorp., and its influence on the 1990s Toronto design scene, a period of intense experimentation and innovation in creativity, technology and popular culture. Through some unusual and slightly awkward tales Mike & Mikey uncover their pivotal experiences in developing and defining the Jacknife brand, known for its unconventional approach to building value through design thinking.
